The 2008 edition includes amendments based upon findings outlined in a study by the National Association of Rocketry on the safety of sport rocketry.
2008 changes address improvements to

· Launch guidance devices
· Launch site specifications
· Spectator clearance distances
A new edition of the High Power Rocket Safety Code has been included as an Annex to the Code. The Committee has also updated definitions to be consistent with other NFPA® documents. (Softbound, 16 pp., 2008)
