Install manufactured homes for maximum safety with the 2009 NFPA 225.
The 2009 NFPA 225 Model Manufactured Home Installation Standard presents the latest guidelines for safe, efficient, and effective installation of manufactured homes. Provisions cover
·    Preparation of sites intended for manufactured homes
·    Foundations on which the manufactured homes are installed
·    Procedures for on-site installation and erection
·    Management of appliances and utility connections
·    Anchoring of the home and protection against seismic events, floods, and wind
Keep pace with these changes in the 2009 NFPA 225
·    New requirements for on-site installation of structures such as carports, awnings and roof coverings to insure such appurtenances are structurally independent from the home itself.
·    Extensive revisions to the sections dealing with the location and spacing of ground anchors were completed to allow NFPA 225 criteria to better align with the wind zone criteria of NFPA 501.
·    A new chapter dealing with prescriptive design criteria for homes that may be placed in a flood hazard area has been added. The chapter provides extensive details on pier design and spacing for such installations.
