TB 121:1980 Flammability Test Procedure for Mattresses for Use in High Risk Occupancies
: High Risk Occupancies might include, but are not limited to jails, prisons, penal institutions, correctional facilities, juvenile detention centers, nursing homes, and health care facilities.
This test procedure is not intended to be used for the evaluation of residential mattresses。
TB 121: Flammability Test for Mattresses - Test Requirement：
Test ignition source: Galvanized metal container with 10 double sheets of loosely wadded newspaper.
Weight Loss due to combustion should be less 10 percent in the first 10 min.
The temperature should be less than 500ºF at the thermocouple above the test mattress at any time during the test.
Carbon monoxide concentration should be less than 1,000 ppm at any point in the test room at any time during the test.
TB 121: Flammability Test for Mattresses - Test Sample:
The test sample shall consist of a typical institutional mattress, complete with cover, with approximate dimensions 30X76 inches and with thickness appropriate to the application.
