TB 129: Fire Test for Mattresses for Use in Public Buildings - Standard Brief：

 The purpose of this test method is to determine the burning behavior of mattresses used in public occupancies by measuring specific fire-test responses when the mattress is subjected to a specified flaming jgnition source under well ventilated conditions.

         This test method is applicable only to the finished article of mattresses and other complete bedding systems and does not apply to testing of individual component materials used in the construction of bedding systems, such as ticking materials, foams, cotton battings, etc.

         The public occupancies include, but are not limited to health care facilities, old age convalescent and board and care homes, college dormitories and residence halls.

 
  Although this test method is primarily a test for mattresses, other bedding systems may be evaluated using procedures described in Appendix E.

         Weight Loss dut to combustion shall be less 3 pounds in the first 10 min;
 
         The maximum rate of heat release shall be less 100Kw;
 
         The total heat release shall be less 25MJ in the first 10 min.
