Semiconductor Material Manufacturer Secures New ISO and OHSAS Certifications
Headquartered in Bernin, France, Soitec has been awarded new certifications from the Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) and the International Standards Organization (ISO) based on the audit carried out at the end of 2011.
The ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications demonstrate that the company’s position as a world-class manufacturer has further been enhanced by meeting global quality, health, safety and environmental management requirements.
Soitec specializes in developing and manufacturing innovative semiconductor materials for the energy and electronics industries. The company operates manufacturing sites globally, including semiconductor material operations and solar module facilities. At present, all these operations meet the quality and environmental specifications of the ISO.
Soitec’s Singapore plant and semiconductor material operations in France have received ISO/TS 16949 certification, as they confirmed full compliance in the audit. The company’s solar module manufacturing facility in Freiburg, Germany has been awarded ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications. Facilities in Paris Sud, France have achieved OHSAS 18001 certification for meeting health and safety requirements.
The company is currently renovating its new solar production plant in San Diego, California to manufacture concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) modules for the renewable energy market in the U.S. The plant aims to secure ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 certifications in 2013 and OHSAS 18001 certification by 2014.
