The show, which runs from April 2-5, isthe world's largest plastics exposition, conference and technology exchange.BASF will deliver its technical presentations at its 2,500 square-foot exhibit at booth 24000 in the South Hall.
In alignment with the company's "We create chemistry" strategy, BASF will focus on the sustainable development of plastics along with the role of plastics in transportation, construction, energy and resources and an improved quality of life.
Among the presentation subjects BASF will present at NPE 2012 are:
•-The Tinuvin® XT range of high performance hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS), which can be formulated into numerous products demanding superior appearance and property retention.
•-The newly launched Tinuvin® 1600 UV absorber, which can makes transparent outdoor thin section applications highly durable. This UV absorber enables polyethyleneterephthalate(PET) films to be a key component for photovoltaics, since it enables PET films to last 25-30 years. It can also be used for polymethyl methacrylate/polycarbonate (PMMA/PC) films/laminations for photovoltaics and other solar applications.
•-A new milestone in expandable foams - the first multi-shock-safe foam, called E-por®, which can be stored, processed and recycled just like expandable polystyrene.
•-The fully compostable co-polyesterEcoflex®, a bioplastic which is designed to be broken down by microorganisms during an industrial composting process. This presentation will also focus onEcovio®as a partially renewable and compostable polymer.
•-Thehigh-performance thermoplastic polyurethane solution Elastollan® 785 for high temperature resistance and lower compression set applications, and Elastollan® 1185 for low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) flame-retardant cable applications.
In addition, highlighting the company's technical support capabilities, BASF will present: "From Idea to Reality: Expertise and Materials from BASF Engineering Plastics,"which will focus on material innovations and how they provide solutions to help solve current and future application challenges; and "From Idea to Reality: Design and Processing Expertise," which will discuss computer aided engineering (CAE) tools and examples along with innovative processing methods that can be used by BASF's experts.
