Huntsman Corporation (NYSE: HUN) announced that its Polyurethanes division has opened a systems house focusing on specialities and differentiated products at its Gandaria site, near Jakarta, Indonesia.
The plant has been purpose-built to produce pre-polymer and polyol blends for Indonesia's fast-growing MDI systems market - with a particular focus on the insulation, automotive and footwear segments - and has a fully equipped technical laboratory to test and develop new products.
Commenting on the new facility, Vincent Wang, Polyurethanes' Vice President, Asia Pacific said: "The new systems house reflects our long-term commitment to the local market and it enables us to significantly improve our support to the growth of our customers and the market. We've strengthened our team over the past few years in readiness for the new facilities coming on line and we're now in a position to offer a more solutions-oriented approach to customers".
The Gandaria site is located approximately 25 kilometres from the centre of Jakarta and is shared with Huntsman's Textile Effects division.
Huntsman Polyurethanes operates a network of systems houses across the South East Asia region.
