BASF today announced opening of a new Construction Technology Center here to strengthen its customer-orientation and develop innovative solutions. The Center will support the development and testing of new applications for concrete admixtures, cement additives, waterproofing, flooring systems, precision grouts, concrete repair and protection products, BASF said in a release. "The newly inaugurated Construction Technology Center will serve the increasing needs of development and technical services for the South Asia region by ensuring better collaboration with customers," BASF Companies in India & Head South Asia Chairman Prasad Chandran said. Located in Navi Mumbai, the newly constructed technical center is a laboratory facility occupying an area of 5,000 square feet. "The investment is part of our global strategy to focus on innovation and sustainability," BASF Construction Chemicals Asia Pacific Vice President Thomas Kloster said. Globally, the division now operates 12 technical Centers, four of which are in the Asia Pacific region, in Japan, Australia, Singapore and Shanghai. In India, the division operates production sites in Navi Mumbai, Mangalore, Nalagarh, Kolkata and Bangalore.
