Bayer MaterialScience LLC has appointed James Charron head of application development, North America, for its Coatings, Adhesives and Specialties (CAS) business unit. In this role, Charron will lead development activities across CAS technologies in the North America region, and coordinate regional and global application development projects.
Charron joined Bayer in 2000 as a polyether polyol process development scientist and has held several positions in business development. Most recently, he was the head of thermoplastic polyurethane resins, where he was responsible for product management, research and development, and sales and marketing.
Charron graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering, and from Carnegie Mellon University with a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, Society of Plastics Engineers and Tau Beta Pi – the engineering honor society.
