Cannon S.p.A. has begun making turnkey-plant polyurethane and composites equipment at a new factory in Caronno Pertusella, north of Milan.
The plant will assemble large molding machines for automotive parts and long-foam laminators for insulated panels for refrigerators. It's part of Cannon's reorganization of its manufacturing centers that specialize in automotive, refrigeration, composites, thermoforming and aluminum die-casting, all under Cannon Ergos.
Cannon fully manufactures the turnkey plants and does final testing, them ships the equipment to the customer site for installation.
Canon built the 53,800-sq.-ft. plant north of its Milan headquarters. The building has 40-ft.-high ceilings. The facility can produce systems for a range of markets, such as automotive plants for seats and sound-insulation elements, compression molding and resin transfer molding for composites, rigid foam laminators for sandwich panels and large thermoformers.
