BASF - the world's leading chemical company - on Monday announced to open the Polyurethanes Technical Development Centre in Pakistan, offering improved services to customers, and bringing the latest developments in the market to industries in Pakistan including home appliances, furniture, construction, footwear and transportation. The initiative will complement BASF's range of offerings, technical expertise and strategic collaborations in the region.
The state-of-the-art facility, at the BASF production site in Landhi, Karachi, houses a wet lab, dry lab and a foam-cutting area. The facility is also fully equipped with cutting-edge technology and will offer customer support services ranging from trouble-shooting to customised formulations, line trials and customer training sessions for polyurethane applications in diverse industries.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony Hyoung Soon Moon, Vice President Asia Pacific, Performance Materials, Polyurethanes, said, "Polyurethanes Technical Development Centre in Pakistan is yet another cornerstone of our growing global network in Asia. At the new centre, we will work in collaboration with our customers to drive sustainable solutions for the present and upcoming industrial challenges such as meeting the local technical specifications of Original Equipment Manufacturers' of four & two wheelers for transportation segment, passing stringent Technical Specification Test for export-oriented sports goods for comfort segment, high energy star rating in appliance segment , providing technical edge to key accounts in footwear and smart housing solutions for Construction segment," he added.
