According to the agency, the hydrants must be flushed to remove iron and manganese sediments. The sediment can discolor clothing and the department recommends residents avoid doing laundry on the evening of the hydrant flushing and the next morning.
Motorists should use caution when approaching a flushing crew. Parents should keep their children from playing in the water.
Sept. 12: West of Haw Creek to the
Sept. 13: East of Haw Creek to National Road and all of the city west of White River and Flatrock River including Woodside, Tipton Lakes and Brookside.
Sept. 14: East of Haw Creek and north of
Sept. 15: West of Haw Creek and north of National Road including Forest Park, Everroad Park West and Park Forest.
