In order to achieve the DB accreditation, flammability, smoke and drip formulation tests were conducted on a sandwich panel constructed from a foam core that was laminated with SR1124. This sample part served to replicate a rail manufacturer producing FRP parts or conducting repairs on damaged carriages in case of an accident or stone impact.
In addition to this latest accreditation, SR1124 has also satisfied the stringent health and safety regulations as specified by REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and ASTM E84 Class A for civil engineering in combination with Sicomin‘s FW 16 coating.
SR1124 is a new-generation, low-viscosity formula designed for hand laminating and filament winding processes. Sicomin has successfully optimized this advanced epoxy to ensure it is halogen-free with low smoke opacity and toxicity levels.
