Ability Composites (Loveland, CO, US) reports it has received its certification to SAE AS9100 Revision C for custom fabrication of composite parts and assemblies. Certification to this standard demonstrates Ability Composites commitment to continuous improvement in product quality and delivery performance. AS9100 is the internationally recognized Quality Management System standard specific to the aerospace, aviation and defense industries.
AS9100 is based on the ISO 9001:2008 quality management standard, and provides 80 additional requirements and 18 amplifications specific to aerospace business operations. According to Shadrach Roundy, quality manager at Ability Composites, "The AS9100 certification reflects the continuous improvement efforts and commitments made by our employees to deliver the highest quality products to our customers. We have already seen the benefit of implementing AS9100. We are much more thorough investigating quality issues, resulting in positive change to our process and procedures."
