The China-Germany Shuangyuan (Taicang) Education and Technology Co was recently set up, marking a different way to train highly skilled talents in Taicang, Jiangsu province, Taicang Daily reported on Sept 21.
The company was established by Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg (HWK) Institute, a German craft industry association, and a Taicang vocational school.
The company plans to start the training classes on four HWK professional certificates, including precision machinist, technicians skilled in operating industrial robots and mechanical and electrical engineers for industry and motor vehicles.
Trainees will be assessed and identified according to German standards and the company will set courses in combination with the development strategy of German Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025 so as to satisfy the two countries' demand for special talents.
Employees from local enterprises can get professional skill trainings free of charge.
Taicang introduced Germany's dual system vocational education several years ago and established the first vocational training center in China, which trains the trainees under the guidance of German vocational education.
In recent years, Taicang's cooperation with Germany on education has been further deepened and other cities in China have also copied the successful education mode, including cities such as Shenzhen, Qingdao and Chengdu.
