To achieve this target, the two organizations will join hands to promote building science that allows homeowners to obtain sustainable energy savings for a longer period. RESNET and Icynene will train and employ Icynene licensed contractors as preferred suppliers for spray foam insulation products.
Icynene licensed contractors will jointly work with RESNET-certified raters to optimize air sealing and insulation through the Icynene spray foam insulation products coupled with suitable mechanical ventilation and performance enhancements across home buildings to optimize indoor air quality, energy saving and overall home comfort.
As an aspect of its training program, Icynene plans to offer the energy training course of RESNET to its contractors to obtain the EnergySmart designation. Through the partnership with RESNET, Icynene will continually advance its programs for energy-efficient retrofits and energy-efficient construction for both commercial and residential buildings. This is Icynene’s latest move towards its series of efforts to promote builders developing energy-efficient houses utilizing the HERS index and performance-based contracts in the retrofit market.
