Cellular Concrete Technologies Makes Stable Air Cellular Concrete Technology Green

Cellular Concrete Technologies, which has designed an efficient air-entrainment system, is now introducing a new finding in flowable fill.

The Stable Air system has been highly effective in the construction industry for low cost, high-efficiency and environmentally safe materials. Eric Stovner, Breiholz Qazi Engineering's LEED AP, said that Stable Air Cellular Concrete Technology is a Green technology that provides both immediate and long-term cost savings and sustainable benefits.

CCT's patented Stable Air technology maintains air volume within a range of 2% from the start of mixing through transit, placement and completion. Stable Air minimizes weight while retaining strength, maximizes freeze/thaw damage protection, optimizes flowability and workability, resists mold and water damage and yields flowable fill without shrinking. This green technology, which is biodegradable and non-toxic makes environment-friendly construction affordable and easy.

The non-shrinking flowable fill from CCT is considered a superior product globally. Since normal fill mixes comprise 35% air and remaining sand, a standard pour will be for a maximum of 4 ft provided it does not collapse due to its own weight. On the other hand, flowable fill composed of Stable Air can have up to 80% air and reach more than 10 ft in one pour. As most flowable fill batch designs are blended at a 40:1 ratio, the flowable fill made with Stable Air can be blended at a 120:1 ratio. Therefore, with the same amount of fill, foam agent can be produced less than three times.

CCT is hoping to introduce its newest materials at the 2012 World of Concrete convention that will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, and is being considered for the World of Concrete's Most Innovative Product award.
