Faurecia SA, the France-headquartered automotive parts group, has opened a think tank for automotive seating research and development which it hopes "will help European automakers bring highly innovative concepts to market."
Called dWorks, the think tank is located in Munich, Germany, and brings together a team of designers, engineers and marketers to collaborate on projects for future automotive seats.
Olaf Biedermann, director innovation Europe at Faurecia Automotive Seating, said: "Our intent with dWorks is to have our team of people interact with the large, vibrant ecosystem of universities, institutes, technology companies and startups around Munich to develop seating ideas that will be implemented five to 10 years down the road."
Faurecia is based in Nanterre, France.
